Fly in from Zanzibar for exceptional wildlife encounters and stay at a mid-range camp. After your adventure, you will fly back to Zanzibar for a relaxing return journey.
Mid-range Safari
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Kogatende in the Northern Serengeti. Upon arrival at the Kogatende Airstrip, you will begin your game drive right away, exploring the prime migration areas throughout the morning. This region is famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration, and you can expect to see vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and large Nile crocodiles along the Mara River.
Around noon, you will settle for a relaxing picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by the incredible sights and sounds of the Serengeti. After lunch, you will proceed with your afternoon game drive, continuing to search for wildlife and river-crossing activity until evening. Your overnight stay will be at Safari Haven Migration Camp, well positioned for exploring the surrounding wildlife areas.
After breakfast, you will head out for a full-day game drive in the Northern Serengeti. This region is known for its open plains, scattered woodlands, and the Mara River a key water source attracting a high concentration of wildlife. Throughout the morning, you will explore areas where predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are often seen hunting grazing animals.
As the day warms up, you’ll continue toward the riverbanks, where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask. If it is migration season, you may find herds of wildebeest and zebras near the river, though sightings depend on their movement.
Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in a shaded spot overlooking the plains, taking in the sounds of the wilderness. After lunch, the game drive continues through different habitats, offering chances to spot elephants, giraffes, elands, topis, and many birds. You will return to the camp in the late afternoon to relax, enjoy dinner, and unwind under the African night sky.
After an early breakfast at the camp, you will set off on an en-route game drive as you make your way to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. This last drive gives you one final opportunity to enjoy the Serengeti’s wildlife and scenic landscapes.
